The digital nomad visa of Panama will allow you to combine work and adventure without having to leave the country at the end of your tourist visa. Affordable, the digital nomad visa can also be a good way to test life in the country without making a residency application. Europeans can only stay three months in a row with a tourist visa in Panama; this period is 6 months for Canadian citizens.
Launched in 2021 following the COVID-19 crisis, this program aims not only to promote tourism but also to stimulate the local economy and introduce the country to young foreigners working in innovative sectors.

The digital nomad visa was created on May 7, 2021. It is valid for 9 months and can be extended once for the same period. Holders may work in Panama provided they maintain a contract with a foreign company and meet a minimum annual income of $36,000 USD.
